IM WUNDERSCHÖNEN MONAT MAI is a special film and music production featuring the German actress Barbara Sukowa. Sukowa sings and performs the new song cycle with the subtitle "Three times seven Songs" [original compositions by Franz Schubert and Robert Schumann, lyrics by Heinrich Heine, Joseph von Eichendorff and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe] adapted and re-composed for orchestra by Reinbert de Leeuw for the Schönberg Ensemble. Sukowa and de Leeuw have been a very successful team for twenty years, performing for example Arnold Schönberg's »Pierrot Lunaire«. IM WUNDERSCHÖNEN MONAT MAI is a journey down memory lane full of restless love and the powers of destiny.
