Agota Kristof, a European writer, travels back to the land of her childhood, in which she survived the war and the communist system that followed it, before eventually fleeing to “free” Switzerland. As a writer she asks herself, and the audience, what happened to the lost happiness of those childhood days. Or did it ever really exist?
