Instead of fighting against poverty, we fight against the poor. Europe: its rich areas and its poor suburbs. Where a factory is closed, a prison is built. The poor in general and young immigrants in particular are the subjects of all fears. The film features them in their humaneness, with their emotions, fears and despair. Far away from a concept of European democracy, the film critically and emotionally depicts our society that is often sordid and violent. ‘Strange days… What the hell are we doing ? Have we gone out of our minds ?'
